This is a large, simple and practical basket which is as good for a trip to the beach as it is doing your supermarket shop. It has a big capacity with strong short leather handles. If you leave it in the back of your car you never need to be caught without a bag again. Also great as unusual storage around the house.

Moroccan “French Style” market baskets are hand woven by artisans mainly from the leaves of the Mediterranean Dwarf Palm. This is common on the southern slopes of the Atlas Mountains.
Bulrush is also a commonly used material which is typically woven by two people, one at either end of a loom, and then stitched together with palm rope.
These baskets are perfect for picnics, the beach and of course make great sustainable shoppers.

    Basket as expected – I like the leather handles which should last much better than the string handles on my previous basket .
    The only disappointment is a small pastel pink area in the palm leaf weave which doesn’t really “go”…..
